Sometimes at this time of year I think of her ten thousand miles away and a life time gone. And even though I am married and more happy than I ever believed I could be, I miss her...I miss her so much.

Time is Now

Time is Now

In this life
There is no future
No past,
As in our reality
Time does not exist
Beyond the point
Of being late, or early…Like timing a race,
But other than that
Time is a myth.
Take the words you just read
As an example.
You cannot go back to them
And re-read them
The same as before
As if nothing has happened,
As if nothing has changed.
Babies have been born since then,
People have passed,
Lives have been rearranged,

It can never be the same
As just a few moments ago.

Time is Now Part two

While the words ahead of you
Rest there on the open page
Blank and unread, and they will not
Be so much as a silver snap
In your synapses’
Until that very thin moment
Your eyes and mind touch them,
Swallow them in;
And then, like the words before,
They will be gone from you
In the very instant
Which leaves only now
To contemplate
What you have read,
There is nothing else, nothing more.
That promise was nothing made
In the long ago.
All we have in this life
Is the here and now,
So be ready for it
And never let it pass you by
With the wink of an eye
Empty and alone…After all;
Life is to share.

The Time Traveler

The Time Traveler

Being still and doing nothing
Are very different things
When cold fear
Runs down your spine,
Like a finger nail down a chalk board,
Just as breathing and taking breath differ
In the weight of that cold last hour
Standing still as stone,
Muttering to yourself
In the middle of yesterday’s doorway.
Sometimes it is in
Stuttering sermons, like this,
That we try to tell ourselves
In the heat of an un-shaded light
That we are no longer
Worthy of this world, of life itself,
But this too
Comes from the slowness
Of a thick winter haze
And proves wholly untrue;
Just because we are in this world
Does not mean
That we are of this world,
For in God’s good time
We will surely come to understand
That life is but a learning stop.
Nothing more than a respite
In an endless journey of spirit.

The Time Behind the Page

The Time Behind the Page

Time like quick silver
Slips swiftly through days of lives,
Like sand slips through our fingers.
I think that's why we fear time,
Why we try to captured it
With light and lens,
Precious moments
Etched perfectly
Within the camera’s body.
Instant paper thin memories
We carefully paste
Onto the pages of our dreams,
A shutterbugs history at best
I guess;
I saw you there last night
Pressed tight and thin
Between the pages of our life,
And our dreams,
As beautiful as ever- - -
And for the briefest of moments
I felt as if
No time had passed
Between us,
No divide,
No cold printed stones,
No empty and quiet grass;
That love was ours again
New and beautiful,
It was as if you were still
Here with me

Hand in hand,
And smile in smile.

I have been writing since the beginning of time it seems, not because I want to write, but because I have too. My favorite form of writing is poetry, all kinds and types of poetry.

Profound thinking and reflection, thanks for the share Utah Jay. I use to think - am I living for myself or for others? Yes, I too believe the reality is not here and we will wake up to it after we take our last breath here - siva

Deeply reflective and inspired philosophy, my friend, with clever delivery, especially this:

...they will not
Be so much as a silver snap
In your synapses’
Until that very thin moment
Your eyes and mind touch them,

Smiling in Stillness...rd
