The Winter Dawn and Dreams of Spring

The gray reality of a February morning has us all dreaming of spring.

Longing for Spring

Through the frost upon my bedroom window
In white of winter's light, February's morning-
The quiet of the snow cloud sky
Is a tender longing for the colors of May.

Tucked in my covers soft and warm,
I close my eyes and see beyond.

The Dream

Now dreaming....
Where the sway of the wind beneath the wings of a seagull
Stirs the blue depth of the bay...
Clouds hold tight to wide horizon not to be swept away.

Cold Reality

Hear the tumbling roar of waves upon the shore.
My thoughts of spring
Linger on the the alarm clock's ring
And the winter dawn...

I envy countries with temperate climates for having the 4 seasons, which we don't have, Delicia. Here, we only have 2 extremes, the hot season (and it's really hot!) and the rainy season.

Thanks to your poems, my friend, they have made me experience snow, which I love thru your well-chosen imagery and real images thru Mike, and sunshine which I find enigmatic. All in all, the effects are always magical and enchanting, my friend. Thank you as always!

Lively poem with fantastic photos. Thanks Delicia for showing me the brutish winter effects and natural longing for spring. I have been living in countries with mostly three seasons - a little unlike Buzz - hot, hotter and hottest! siva

Your poetry is outstanding, near a babbling brook. Your words speak to me. Spring for me is allergies, God carries me through this every year. I can breathe your words ,an aroma that is pleasing to my nose and also my mind.
