The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, he is our comforter and teacher, the one that Jesus promise his disciples that he would send to be with us. we are now living in the Spirit age. The Holy Spirit is a teacher and a very special one sent from God to help us on our pilgrimage

The Holy Spirit and you

When the Holy Spirit has come he will convict the world of sin, making the world guilty before God. With the awareness of his presence in the believer’s life, the active force of God will bring a verdict of conviction upon the world. The Holy Spirit has the capacity to have fellowship with believers, He will personally clean up the areas that we are having problems with.

The apostle Paul was demonstrating an example of how the Holy Spirit can work in meetings, when an unbeliever comes into your presence to enquire about the Lord, while everyone is prophesying, they will become convicted of sin and be pricked in their hearts. Conviction puts a person into a miserable state of mind, with the lively reminder of guilt laid heavily upon the conscience.

The world is guilty

Our salvation begins with the act of acknowledgement and repentance, and we need a Savior to redeem us, so the Spirit is the one who will make us come to the realization of the deplorable condition that we are in, when He is come into our lives, he will convict our hearts about the guiltiness of sin, and point out the error in respect of breaking Gods law. Bear in mind that we are utterly unable to save ourselves, taking that thought in mind, Christ said it was to our advantage that he would send the Comforter, and he would deal with mankind in a way that was not previously done before.

I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. John 16:7

The Holy Spirit is a person, beautifully describe by Jesus as one of his close family member in the trinity with himself and the father. The Holy Spirit is distinct and separate from the baptism in the Spirit. He intercedes for the saints in accordance with Gods will, but he also has emotions and can be grieved.

Attributes of the Holy Spirit

Some of his attributes brings joy, and gives us the insight to the discovery of deeper treasures hidden in the scriptures. He reveals truth and is a reminder of things we may have forgotten. Things which can strengthen others. The Holy Spirit encourages and comfort our hearts. He sanctifies and bear witness that we are the children of God, He teaches us the right way to walk, and helps us in our weakness.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26

We are warned not to quench the Spirit for then he can be resisted, and if we deny his works then we blaspheme against him, if we allow Satan to fill our hearts with lies, then he can be lied to. For we see the divine work of the Spirit in partnership during the early stages of creation, for he was hovering over the surface of the water.

The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, and he will give life to our mortal bodies. No one will enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of the Spirit, the divine gifts of the Spirit is given through the Spirit, and this brief summary will help us to understand baptism in the fire of power.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a different experience than the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, one is a distinctive process that takes place during the early stages of salvation. The other is when the vessel has been sanctified, and The Holy Spirit comes and takes up residence inside the person. That is known as being filled with the Holy Ghost.
