Most of the time we have to remember the past to reconcile and have better understanding of what happening today. This poem shows paradox, how a writer struggle for himself.

The vignettes of then and now

Dear comrade,
I invite you to reminisce;
The blank paper you used to write onto
The smoke from a cigar
Casting ideas, creating pictures
How you filled those blank spaces
With memories of ideals.

Dear friend,
It's been a while then.
Now your like don't exist no more
Despodently I pick your pen
But my veins don't remember
Like a flimsy child strayed.
I need your courage.
I need your strength.

Vividly thoughts came-

It's not you but me who forgot
All this time of wondering
I didn't realized,
I should not have wanted.
Now I'm clinging on past.

Holding this pen,
I write you a letter.

I love being a writer, it gives us the opportunity to tell stories, to create a character, to design a situation and be God of our own writing.
