Three poems from The first Decade of 2000

I have chosen my three favorite poems from the end of the first decade of this Millennium

FLY AWAY

This first poem shows how, with a little encouragement even the very delicate of creatures can gain confidence and strength.

She was fragile
I gave her strength
I knew she would fly away
She sought to know
I taught her so
I knew she would fly away
She denied her beauty
I convinced her thus, she began to see the truth
I was old and near my time she still had her youth
I saw in her amazing things, liberated all her fears
Held her gentle in my arms, wiped away her tears
She was so slight, easily crushed, I watched over her with concern
Freedom was hers to explore her world, but each day she would return
She learned of many hurtful things
Conquered every test
I was, so proud, of my butterfly
Magnificently impressed
Until she needed me no more until that anxious day
She took my heart I freely gave
But I knew she would fly away

MEDITATE

My next, reflects my desire to discover myself, to question my presence, and to understand why! I quote:- “Meditation brings wisdom; lack of mediation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” ~ Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C~

Meditate with an unquenchable thirst for fulfilment.
To be with one’s inner self, is to enter a sphere of comfort and empathy.
To interconnect outside of one’s physical ego, allows one to enter a state of solitude and unfettered benevolence.
Only when you can see from others eyes, can you truly begin to comprehend yourself.
Learn to listen with willing ears and an open soul
Feel what others feel, see what others see.
Take not for yourself, but only to give to others to enjoy their pleasure.

INTEGRITY

And so the the third poem, this is a concept of Actions, Values, Methods, Measures, Principles, Expectations, and Outcomes.

From the Latin word integer we get integrity.
It has to be, you must agree Integrity, Integrity
Principles and honesty abide with love inside of me
To quote some words that Shakespeare spun
Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.
And so I say, as you walk into, the future that awaits
Your principals, your honesty are all looked on by fates
Stand up for truth; stand-up be strong, stand up for rights, fight all that’s wrong
It has to be, you must agree Integrity, Integrity

Nice post Jonnydod. I know you will see and most likely agree. I came into the world with nothing so what ever I have now came from someone else. The only thing I really own is my decision. Have a good day.

WE MUST EXPLORE our existence why for and why not who is who who is not and who is corrupt goes up in dreams of some till he is blown and none know who was he when now where exploration is times desire you are a speck a bubble in the ocean of time none know you none will remember you no one will ever miss you many will be happy you have gone that's why friends and foes i still live in hope as anon .

You are such an eloquent poet and your vocabulary and imagery is spectacular! Your first poem made me think of how a parent has to let go of their child when she is finally ready to live on her own. Your phrases also make sense and they are not so vague that no one can interpret them. You truly know how to write great poetry!!

Sometimes life holds different meanings wherein one is like a butterfly, beautiful, pretty, but with limited time and has to pollinate as many as they can in that day before dying completely. But its their mind that lives on forever as that is where everything grows and if they wanted, they could have used it to create a longer duration of their life to help many around for in the end it is just the soul that flies like an Eagle with all the teachings and learning intact as that never dies unless it is annihilated by the heavens Above but after weighing the pros and cons and delivering the truth.
That is the essence of Gone Too Soon.

All three play integral parts in everyone's life. Life has no meaning if we are prepared, adapt, accept and lack integrity. Our thoughts and actions help us stay rooted to reality to withstand the vicissitudes of life. Very meaningful, Johnnydod, thanks - siva
