Tips in preparation for cooking at home

It is very obvious that you are cooking at your home. You must be thinking what kind of tip one can give you on cooking.

The most important thing is cooking at home is very economical. Here some very generalized tips for cooking at home


Tip 1: If you do not have interest in cooking, start with simpler recipe. Start with the cuisine you like and the dish you mostly eat outside.



Tip 2: Always focus on preparation of food rather than using prepared food. Avoid using canned food and prepared sauces. Use lots of spices in your food. Spices are good for health and it smells great.Have seasonings close to the area where you do your food preparation.


Tip 3: If you are non-vegetarian, make sure your meat cooked until brown. Do not fill your pan completely. Flip or stir after one side is completely turning to brown. Pan should be very hot to avoid sticking. Pre heat your oven, do not use fork to turn steaks, always use spatula.




Tip 4: If you need crisp and tender vegetable, avoid over boiling of vegetables.


Tip 5: Invest in buying potato ricer and salad spinner. These are good asset for your kitchen.


Tip 6: Always use healthy oil for cooking like olive oil. Mushrooms should be wiped off with a damp cloth and not washed under the faucet since they are like sponges and will absorb the water.


Tip 7: Use a damp paper towel underneath your cutting board when chopping. It’ll prevent the board from slipping.


Tip 8: You can use different colored cutting board for vegetable and meat just to avoid any kind of mixing or contamination.


Tip 9: For cleaning herbs, fill a bowl with water dip your herb and dirt will come out and settle at bottom. Pick your herb and wash again with water like other vegetables.


Tip 10: If you are trying new recipe read it carefully and arranges all ingredients before you start cooking. It may take a few minutes extra but will help you a lot.


Tip 11: Do not forget to clean and arrange the things after cooking. Make a habit of cleaning up immediately after cooking.


Tip 12: if you are mostly cooking at home, check your refrigerator and pantry and make a list before going to supermarket, this habit can save your time.
