Transient

This one is strange; wrought from the oddities of my subconscious, I believe. Inspiration was derived from a hair-clasp sitting on my desk and from conflicts within me; past pain and allusions to a friend at the fore of my mind. Five lines per stanza? Why not.

Transient

The hair-clasp sits innocently before me
Perched atop the gold-wood desk.
As a whole, it is luscious, full-bodied
Maple syrup bound by coiled spring
Swirls of amber, intricately joined.

Abdomen wrought of metallic apprehension
When tensed - a butterfly, nightmarishly poised!
It bears haggard teeth that gnaw and pin
But never pierce, nor rupture
For all the ferocity they brandish.

Look not into my stars, for there gleams
The twisted anguish that writhes within.
Why this misfortune; such misery, such convolutions?
I feel a dead weight, scar tissue. A hollow.
Here lies the gap that refuses to be filled.

You too brighten my spark, fuel my illumination.
Fireflies, symbiotic in the dusk and dawn.
Don't joke. I bruise easily. Pencil in the real me, with passion.
Sketch geniunely; abandon your self-consciousness!
Breach these supple skins of fantasy.

I'm quite a bizarre teenager. Intellect and eccentricity enthrall me. I am torn between science and literature, unsure which I wish my future to rest with.

Writing is my constant, and ensures my sanity (or perhaps lack thereof).

Deliciously twisted, passionate, and deep. But now I fear my good wife’s hair pins, will keep me far from sleep.

Oh dear.
Thank you for the praise, nonetheless... I like it when that side of me emerges. :)

Yes... I know the feeling... it's most alarming when you're not even sure what you're on about yourself.

Compromised? Eek, that sounds ominous. Anyhow: synthaea@fastmail.fm - it's written in my Wikinut author story thingy if you should ever need it again :)

Thanks Loverme, but that was so Sues, I shoulda signed his name to it. Or do you mock me? I know your a cute little kitten, but I'll pop a cap in those furry little hindquarters! I dislike making that little smilely face at the end of a sentence, so you'll just have to assume, my jocularity.

Amazing poem, Its soo brilliantly intricate that it simply seems surreal that all these beautifully chosen words which form this lovely poem are liked to a source as simple as this. Amazing.

Thank you all... my thoughts branched out derangedly (which is now an adverb) from the hair clasp, and then I just babbled about my emotions for a bit :P I'm really glad you liked it. :)

This Morning!
I woke up this morning
And
Was remembering
Friend Synthaea too,
You know who
and
Then some words
Came to my mind
On love
Zodiac style
Shall write
In a while

Love is lovely
The most beautiful thing
Created
At the instance of man,
When there was
Neither cinema nor internet
and
Love was only in ones’ bed
That I can safely bet
For love made
One’s everything red.

I like to make a big deal out of just one object or emotion. I like your style.
