(UN) INVITED

In a world with indiscernible motives of want, need and mere protocol, how do you distinguish a sincere desire for your presence?

(UN) INVITED

This page is made witness
of a problem one confides,
A sheet accordingly free
from the prejudices of a mind.

The want of one's presence
cannot be answered by invitation.
One cannot neglect the existence
of those unwillingly compelled.

How, then, does one discern
sincerity from protocol?
Free from prejudice indeed,
but paper does not answer back.

In this world of imperceptible motives of want, need, and hypocritical propriety,
a book is my one true companion;
probably because it has not the liberty to choose.

I write to remember that not very long ago, I believed that the teru-teru bozu would keep the rain away.

well, itsumo=always, yonde is a derivative from yomu=read, kurete is from kureru=give... or it's used when doing someone a favor~
there, you now know 3 more words~!^_^

You're welcome :]
In a sense, yes. It's nice to be a sort of closet writer. But at the same time you'll probably find that you have other friends who write who you can relate to, and you can get your peers to review your work too.

waah i don't want them to read my stuff~
i lost big time in a writing competition before, so i'm no longer immune to criticism; especially ones from them.m(_ _)m

Criticism is a tough one. Everyone needs it but most people hate it, which is fair enough. Even kind criticism ("constructive" criticism) can really sting, because writing is such a personal thing and also so subjective. The smallest rebuke can bother you for weeks and put you off writing. But you've got to learn to take it on board without minding too much, or it will limit your ability to improve.

It's alright, the best people have a lot of issues ;)
