Underhanded Deceit

I had always thought that it was important to have a good credit score, until one day at the bank and all my viewpoints about a credit score were dashed away.

Underhanded Deceit

We had been looking to buy a house for a considerable amount of time and nothing was meeting my husband 's approval. He found something wrong with every house we looked at and he was driving our real estate agent up the wall. I had seen many homes in the right location and for the right price that I thought would be absolutely great for us to buy. Finally our real agent suggested that we build a house to our specifications. I wanted something simple, but he wanted as big of a house as we could possible get. To do that a person needs to have the financial means to meet their dreams of building a huge home. The first thing we did was to talk with a loan officer at a bank and told this bank loan officer how much we would need in order to build our new home.
The loan officer looked at our credit scores and told us that they were not high enough to build that big of a house and that we would have to downsize. I was perfectly willing to do this. I saw no sense in us having such a large place. Before I realized what was happening my husband at that time pushed a large amount of money towards the loan officer telling him at the same time that he could change our credit scores very easily.
The loan officer did not say anything and went back to the computer and pushed a few buttons, turned to us and said that we had been approved for the loan.
I knew that what had happened was going to end up biting us financially and that is exactly what happened. We ran into financial trouble trying to make the payments on the loan and eventually our house that he wanted so badly was put on foreclosure.
I was not sorry to lose the house and that I have moved on with my life with a new and better husband who is honest and would never consider doing anything underhanded or deceitful.
