A short poem about a pair of two very special goats

Victor & Floppy Lugs

One dark winter's night when all were a-bed
Two little brothers lay crying in a shed.
They were cold, they were hungry and in quite a state
There was no time to loose when one learned of their fate.

Everything happened so fast on that night
To save these two kids from their merciless plight
Had they been left they'd have had their throats slit
By a gluttonous man who cared not a bit.

Secure in a stable for several days
One couldn't help fall for their mischievous ways
They got used to kindness and loved to be petted
The next job to be done was having them vetted.

De-horning and neutering had to be done
As part of a future of freedom and fun.
Straight from the vet and down to the boat
In no time at all they were safely afloat.

The next stop was the Sanctuary, their permanent home
To lead a real goats life, to wander and roam.
Soon their wounds healed, they joined in with the others
You'll see when you visit, two happy brothers.
