Wall Street Complains It Isn't Getting Paid Enough

Those poor CEO's on Wall Street. How will they ever make do?

We need more

The Wall Street Journal editorial writers are down in the dumps, complaining in print that despite "significant gains" in company profits last year, pay for the strapped CEO's of 65 firms was, in their words, "surprisingly mediocre" last year, rising "just 1.4%." Of course, on an average CEO pay of fifteen million dollars a year, that's just a paltry $240,000.00. Don't you just bleed for these guys?

We have to really feel for the CEO of Nike, who received a smaller bonus this year, which brought his pay down to a paltry $12.7 million. How he's going to make ends meet after this is beyond me.

There is some good news, however. Wall Street has thus far given $33 million in political contributions to the political parties, 92% of it to the Republicans and 8% to the Democrats. Of that $33 million, Mitt Romney has received 70%. So whose interests do you think Mr. Romney will serve should he be elected our next president?

Hello, Steve: I am still worrying about those CEOs stranded in Brazil. Now I have got another lot to worry about.
