War: a Most Cruel Mistress.

This article talks about war, how war changes and destroys life and persuades many with false promises. War is destruction, war is endless corruption and we should all fight to put an end to it for a better world!

The arrival of war.

In the distance drums are sounding,
With sorrow melodies they are announcing,
Changes that are to come,
A silent guest will soon make this place a home.

In bright flashes of light and explosion,
A most notorious guest has arrived,
The streets tremble with the commotion,
For it is mistress war who has arrived.

She who has no equal,
Dressed in scarlet and perfumed with pain,
In these lands she knows no rival,
To destroy lives and create suffering is her only game.

Most cruelest of seductress,
Luring men to her side with false promises.
Just a glance from her makes their skin burn with desire,
To please her they will set the world on fire.

Blood coated lips dripping with poison,
Her darkness clouding over emotions.
Wherever she goes streets fill with corruption,
Death and sorrow she brings about with devotion.

Mistress war.

Mistress war,
Most cruelest of women,
She has no heart,
Not for any children and men.

Sweet nothings whispered in every ear,
So many flee her site in fear,
But for everyone who leaves, three more choose to hear,
For mistress war they do not fear.

She will feed on their dark hearts,
Promising to make true their every dream along the way,
Once their purpose has been served disposing of them for her is not so hard,
She will move on leaving death and destruction along the way.

Hopes for an end.

Gun pouter in the winds,
Sorrow in the rains,
Absolute chaos satisfying every corrupted soul’s wimp ,
Mothers and children crying in pain.

So many have fallen,
So many will continue to fall,
The killing knows no end,
At mistress war’s feet they will beg and crawl.

Living in constant fear,
Bravery holding back tears.
In order to survive one has to stand up and fight,
To return this war ridden world back to the light.

I never heard war to be called a seduction but it really is for some men. Thanks so much for this excellent poem

with the way isis is getting people to join them, i see it as some form of seduction. they pray on those that have low self-esteme and those who haave become antisocial as well as the weak minded, or those with mental instabilities. thanks for reading!

Well conveyed the important message. War is business for some bringing them biggest profits. They assiduously build the climate by stoking flames of hatred and supplying arms to everyone willing to pay them. And finally innocents suffer - what karma indeed! I remember a WW1 veteran telling what use the killings when a piece of paper denoting peace is signed in the end! Time we the root out the cause of war in the bud and went for disarmament - siva
