Was that a MOM (moment of madness) or what?

It is believed that humans (all living creatures) probably have moments in their lives when they do some inexplicable, strange and totally out of character things. These can be decribed to as moments of madness.

This is wickedness

I read about and saw photos of a teacher in China, punishing two of his students who had been talking/laughing during his class by making them kneel down and his put his legs on their backs, one leg each on each of the boys.

The worse thing was that he started using his phone, while other students had gathered around the scene and took pictures.
Eye witness say the teachers, shouts and screaming at the boys attracted their attention.

The man had the time to take off his shoes and roll his trousers so his actions were not implusive or sudden.

The images went viral and the school authorities claim to have suspended the man, who they described as being a good teacher with a good track record.

I was horrified when i read the story, how humilating it must be the boys and i suspect that physical and other ways of punishment are used in that school.

Back in my days.

I school in Africa at a time when kneeling down with out hands up, beatings with sticks were among the range of punnishments meted out to offending pupils/students.
This was in the 80's and 90,s.
This practices were normal to us and as much as i am not defending them we took it in our stride and did our best to avoid them by obeying the rules.

Things have changed a lot now and my nephews/neices who still live there have a different experience of school especially boarding education.
I am glad my future generation have the privilege of having the best learning under the best possible environment and conditions.

It has been over 40 years that teachers are not allowed to strike or beat or touch a student here in Montreal.

There are some countries where there are no documented laws against beating/punishment of students, Carol.
