We Need Not Accept This Fate

Million dollar dreams have million dollar headaches. Think about it enough, even that heache could be profitable for you.

So the economy sucks

Sure, times might behard for a lot of people. But every headaches is the aspirin salesman's dream. No matter the market, somebody, somewhere is making money. These are the people any business-person wants to be selling and marketing to.

There is no such thing as a truly, completely “bad economy.” Such a creature can not exist.

So the last job sucked

Quit hunching your shoulders towards the past. Did you marry your first date? Did you stick with your first junior high school elective? Are you not quite a bit different today, than what you were, yesterday, already?

Just because a person might have ten million failures behind them, doesn't mean their next attempt isn't a hit. This is usually where others tell the story of Edison but, I still hate him for what he did to Tesla.

So you've made a lot of mistakes

Mistakes in the past don't determine how you'll perform under a different job description, requiring different skill sets.

So, your last job of climbing trees, stunk – for example – but, your newest job, requiring a lot of time swimming and near the water? Now, this is something you're good at.

Or, perhaps if your new business venture includes many of those same scenarios you worry about now, it's a simple matter of re-considering your business plan. But, this situation will be rare as most businesspeople go into a field different than which they've left, though, not always the case.

Get off your butt and quit feeling sorry for yourself

Whatever the thing is which “you've always wanted to do” should be precisely what you're working to achieve now.

But, you get in your own way, don't you.

You listen to your fears and see the down-side of everything. (Seeing the down-side is a necessary function. But seeing only the down—side is a problem. A mind has to calculate profit, too.)

Try being fair to yourself, at least some times. It's so easy to be harshly self-critical but fair to others. Ty being fair to yourself sometimes, too and, see if you're that terrible of a boss to report to, for yourself as well.
