I write a column for famous sayings and superstitions this one is about the weather

Scientific weather forecast

Many people complain that the weather forecast is always wrong and yet we are depending on a scientific formula to determined forecast.

Of course weather can change, rain is predicted but it doesn't happen, the days turns out to be warmer or colder than the forecast because suddenly a wind changes direction or a low or high front changes course.

Old tales predicting weather

Is it better to forecast the weather the way our ancestors did?

This is part of a weather poem, it will continue it in the next post.
If you want predictions for rain:

If Ducks or Drakes their Wings do flutter high
Or tender Colts upon their Backs do lie,
If Sheep do bleat, or play, or skip about,
Or Swine hide Straw by bearing on their Snout,
If Oxen lick themselves against the Hair,
Or grazing Kine to feed apace appear...

Kine

Kine is an old word for cow by the way but none of these animals would help me because I live in the city and I don't have any of these animals.
