We capture different emotions and thoughts when we hear sounds. They touch our hearts with passion, happiness, love, fear, and many other responses. This song was written while listening to the magic of the trains whistle, while I sat one evening by the computer. It is one that is in "When Nature Exhales." Thanks for reading!

A Train Whistle

Against Autumn’s cool evening wind
bluebird wings capture your voice
express your soul inside their sound
to dance my heart across copper field

far away . . . the unbroken haunt of a train whistle holds my intent

Serenity upon breathless night
hangs from Willow’s shadow
alone, my marrow weeps in darkness
behold, the moon invokes tears to stars

far away . . . the unbroken haunt of a train whistle holds my intent

“I smile within the thought of your face
under sunset skies, while their vibrant colors
emended in constant vortexes to follow your spirit
and gather an audience to upstage that which they could not”

far away . . . the unbroken haunt of a train whistle holds my intent

The deep valley assembles poised darkness
underneath the stone steps of my porch
together phantom hills and I begin to wait . . . for you
in pretense the vale feels your presence and I hold your hand

far away . . . the unbroken haunt of a train whistle holds my intent

Trees brush in urgency against winter’s kiss
to leave a message that echoes secret words, only I can hear
flavor of your homecoming seasons the brisk air
soon you will indulge my spirit, for I hear it

far away . . . the unbroken haunt of a train whistle holds my intent

Sounds like Winter is on its way that is when nature exhales and snow starts to fall around post autumn.
The Snow Queen seems to be making her rounds in the North now, get your jackets and the fire out and keep warm....
Homecoming it is for thanksgiving.... :-)
