When I Was a Child

It was a free life as a kid. No worries, not threatened by almost anything. We just had a programmed mindset of invincibility. We don't think about it but somehow we just know we are protected.

Dance in the rain, Build after the storm

Back from school
Done with lunch
Tummies protruding with pride
The clouds gather

The tears of the sky
The laughter of children

When it rains
The old man snores
But for we children
When it pours
We dance
The thunder gives the beats
The lightening offers light effects
And we dance
To the cheers of drops
Hitting the metal roofs

The cold drops
Unable to cool
The fires of play
Burning within us

The storm is over
Fun is only begun

Now it's time to build
One by one we troop out
Full of energy
We run to site
We will raise castles
All we need
Arms and feet
Rain and sand
A city of sand castles
Will soon be in view

We love the rain
We are at peace with the storm

When God asks of us to be like little children, I think that is Him saying

"Worry less as much as possible
Be free to dance in the rain
I am not just a God, I am also a father."

When God says He wants the best for us, I just believe it! If He wants me to be like a child, what more can i want?

We are moving away from nature (I take God as everywhere through His creations) and children stay cooped up within the confines of home with endless video games; no harm if there is some balance with the outdoors.

This poem resonates within me, thanks IkeNwosu - siva

Welcome Siva.

Playing outdoors, relating with nature creates a bigger chance to be creative. We created most of our fun games as children, something that is gradually being taken away from children now.
