Whining

The thing that most parents find most annoying about their kids is when they whine. As annoying as it is when children do it, it is even more infuriating when adults do the same thing!

Whining: The Bane of Parenthood

When there is anguish
With no safe place to shout,
It may be a n appropriate moment
To slowly breathe in
And exhale with a high-pitched,
Unobtrusive
Yet deliberately obvious
Whine.

Parents never would suggest
That a whine is ever fine
Often finding the sound (and accompanying attitude)
Obnoxious
In a way that makes small molehills
Mountainously exacerbating;
The child’s whining is
Predictably
Irritating.

Oxymoronically,
A sublime whine
Can be neither fine
Nor spewed
At an opportune time.
Too much whine
Does not damage the liver
But makes
The need for recovery time
From our children
Something most parents
Would be reluctant to decline.

Excellent - only one thing worse! Kids screaming in supermarkets and shopping malls.

Oh yes... IN those places, they get to play the "E" (Embarrassment) card, and they know it!

Subconsciously parents encourage the whining, or rather react only when prompted by it! Again, when we have to depend on the same children much later in our lives, we too get into that dreaded zone! Nice take, David - siva
