Who is responsible for this attack? The temple authority or the owner of the elephant? Or the public? May be there will be some cruelty by the owner of the elephant.

Who is responsible for the elephant attack in temples or festivals in Kerala?

The elephants are using in temples, festivals in Kerala. Some time some of them are running and killing innocent people.

Kerala is famous for several festivals. During the festivals in temples, we may use elephants with ornaments etc. The elephants are standing in a raw and in front of them there will be people with drums, other musical instruments. They has to stand in the sunlight for hours. Thousands of the people gather there to view this panoramic program.

In some occassion one of the elephant will start to run and during his run he may kill some innocent people. The people will run here and there. Some people will fell down and killed by the elephant.

Recently at my native place, Thrissur there was a festival called as Thrissur Pooram. On the first day it was fine. Lacs of people gathered and enjoyed.

On the last day one of the elephant Paramekkave Unnippilli Kalidasan has started running here and there which made thousands people to run. The people were crying and running for the shelter.

But some people especially young boys are standing there to see how the elephant is running. If elephant is running towards them they will run to other area. Why they want to take risk on their life. Several experience has already happened. Several news has published with photos, still people will stand there if the elephant is start to attack.

Several videos are available in Youtube. Horrible

Who is responsible for this attack? The temple authority or the owner of the elephant? Or the public? May be there will be some cruelty by the owner of the elephant.

God bless all the people as well as the elephants.

Good question with the projection of the facts of the incidents.

Hope someone would write an article that answers and resolves this issue.

I think it would be no surprise to find the elephants are stressed. I have heard they may be underfed too. The drums and stress probably makes them angry.
