Wikinut: Bravo but it's time for a change back

Wikinut has survived but is that enough? New sites are storm in ahead like . Why can't wikinut transform back and emulate the new sites.

Change means going forward

I have been wondering about Wikinut. It's a pretty old site and has been around for a couple of years. That's fine but is that the be all and end all. Is survival the only motto. Does not this site want to rise up and create waves? A man by nature is ambitious but this site looks to lack this commodity. It is more like a mole hibernating for a little too long. Writers have fled and the site is a pale shadow of what it was. I wrote on the site for a couple of years and I will say they were satisfying years. Ended up writing almost 1500 articles on everything under the sun but the most satisfying effect was having a viewership of over 2.5 million.I don't have this on any other site though I may earn more bucks. Till last week my articles were still averaging hundreds of views every day and that is cause for celebration.

Changing Times

Times have changed and after years, I had no choice but to give up on the site, not for anything but the priority changed and time was a premium, as I was writing on other sites which paid heavily. There is a time for introspection and the time for this for Wikinut is NOW. How long can this state of suspended animation continue? I was wondering why could not this site have replaced the top site on the net? Why did it down the shutters? Why was there a lack of ambition?.

Writing is fun and the best policy is to attract the best in the field. When you pay nothing the best will not come. A few may continue writing for nostalgia for the site but that's about all. Over the months a site becomes moribund, more like the dead Dodo.

There is a need for the promoters to put on their thinking hats and think of getting their site up in the rankings. Maybe it's difficult, probably it is, but not impossible. Why not emulate something like Blasting news. It pays $3 per article and you earn from viewership as well. One just has to think big. That doesn't require a genius but just good business sense. One hopes Wikinut will rise up like the Phoenix the mythical bird that rose up from the ashes. Will it happen?

Thought provoking Madan. Yeah, I too believe Wikinut should not lie low forever as the norm.

It has a good platform but it is tough to get motivated when there is zilch incentive and hope of better things to come.

Some indication of what is in store is necessary for attracting more traffic and life - siva .

I agree with you Madan. My viewing figures have gone down so much, I was never worried about being paid, but would just like to see the site having the movement there used to be, and some of the writers coming back to share their work.
