Johnny Peace flees the story
This is part of a story written in gamebook style. if you haven't yet, you should read the story from the beginning

Gamebook intro

This chapter is part of a gamebook style story where you, the hero, get to make choices which will determine how the story goes. If you haven't read the story from the beginning, perhaps you should start here.

You decide not to help

You decide that the problems of the Getitoome tribe are precisely that - their problem. Bidding goodbye and good luck to the medicine man, you mount Lightning and ride off. You hear the medicine man cursing and shouting at you. He calls you a coward and a failure and hurls curses in your direction. You consider putting a bullet through his head but think better of the matter. In fact, you don't really mind his name calling since he is in essence correct. You hid from danger, fled from the chase and refused to render aid when asked for it. This really does make you nothing more than a yellow bellied prairie dog.

The End

Since you have conclusively chosen to avoid the adventure, this is the end of the story. On the one hand you are alive - which is a good thing, I suppose, but on the other, what's the point of being Johnny Peace the gunslinger cowboy, if you aren't going to risk life and limb on some crazy adventure.
If you do want to try again, you can always return to the beginning of the story...
