Woodland Echoes

Often in the process of writing my poems I create what I call "mirror poetry," poems written from the same inspiration. This is such a poem. "From the Maine Woodlands a Morning in June" is the mirrored poem.

A Carpet Woven by Time

The woodland floor
Is soft of moss,
Yet sharp of needled pine..
Here logs are found-
Lying in symmetric lines.

Royal Devotion

July in sunlight devotion
Rims the treetops with a crown.
An irreverent raven caws
To mark his distance...

Where Silence is Found

In shaded solitude I pause.
Amid tall pines' dark and dimpled bark
The forest becomes a wall...
Silence here is a whisper
From the depth of my soul.
