Does your writing lack vigor? Don't be discouraged. Here are a few things I've learned that might help you succeed in writing more colorful work.

Write from the heart.

Have you ever tried to put your thoughts on paper, only to be discouraged  by your lack of skill? Here are a few things I've learned along the way that you might be able to apply.

Whatever you write, it must come from your heart. Usually, when I sit down to write something, the idea will have been bouncing around in my skull for quite some time. Rarely do I write when there's nothing to start with. Don't try to force yourself to think of something. Let it happen naturally. Sometimes the best ideas pop into your head at the most inconvenient times! Write it down as soon as you can. Carry a notebook, or save it on your mobile phone or other device.

Listen to great dialogue and read quality content constantly. The content you are studying is more important than the subject. Listen for phrases, adjectives, and descriptions that catch your interest and write them down. Don't forget to utilize a thesaurus. Search for alternative words for what you are trying to convey.  This way, you can increase your vocabulary, and incorporate what you've learned into your writing.

I'm a homemaker, wife, and mom. I have too many hobbies to mention, but let's say, I'm artistic, crafty, and musical. As a writer, I'll generally focus on frugal living, but I'll write about anything.

Great advice here. So often online content seems forced, for the sake of writing. When you write from the heart it shows through.

I have always written because I like to. I have also not published many pieces because they don't seem right. Some people write purely for the money and do not seem to put in as much passion.
