A poem written on a sleepless night looking for sleep everywhere

Written on sleepless night

Sometimes sleep is elusive
For no reason sleep escapes your night,
You may not be sad,
Neither too excited,
Not restless too,
Still your eyes don't close to sleep.
You try every method,chanting prayers,
Counting 100 to 1,deep breathe laying still,
But the angel of sleep won't oblige you.

On one such night, a strange thought
Crossed my mind. When it's morning,
Afternoon or night, my stomach
Growls with hunger and I get food somehow;
I buy, beg or steal,
Yes there is food somewhere which
I can get into my stomach to appease my hunger.
But when my mind yearns to sleep,
Where to look for it?
Can I buy sleep from the shops?
Does some great man give away sleep?
Or can I steal sleep from some safe?

Flabbergasted at my thought,
I stand confused,
Do any of you know the answer?
(Try thinking on a sleepless night!)

I do not have serious issue with falling asleep - I feel just closing our eyes and keeping our thoughts calm will help - siva
