a secret that we share

I felt like writing a love poem, so here it is. It just felt like one of those days now that the weather is turning warmer.

a secret that we share

like a clap of thunder
it shakes everything
the walls
the windows
rattles the dishes in the sink
my very heart and soul
it quickens the pulse
startles and disarms
here in the half light
in your eager arms
I wrap myself around you
as the moon
drifts over the still waters
by its own bright reflection
I can feel my heart beating
pounding in my chest
your touch
a drug
coursing through my veins
I cannot sleep
I cannot eat
all I can do
is think of you
I am obsessed
you are a dream
a deep languid dream
from which I cannot wake
I want to overflow
with everything that is you
if you are a window
then I am a door
if you are a sea
then I am a shore
without reservation
or obligation
walking through the high
running through the low
shall I describe to you
how your kisses taste
how your body feels
in my hands
how we fit
how we move
warm and alive
we turn to dust
and blow away
on the summer wind
