A poem for all those people out there who do not know there father that well; or not at all.

dancing on the dead

what can I say
I was drunk
and high for days
I crashed a rave
and at 2 a.m. on the third day
I drove five hours to Texas
and danced on my father’s grave
just as the sun started to peak
its burning
head over the horizon
I snorted drain cleaner
just to watch my nose bleed
and maybe get my head clear
and clean
I got in a fight with three bearded SOBs
in a dive biker bar
I didn’t eat
didn’t sleep
but I stole a car
and drove it through the wall
of a 7-Eleven on Harry Hines Boulevard
at a 24 hour adult book store
I scored some speed
because I knew that’s what I’d need
to make it back home
and through another sorry work week
