on writing a new page and having nothing to write about

Writing comes easy for many seasoned writers but for those who struggle putting words together to come up with one sensible sentence, writing can be a real problem.

what to write about?

Well, after submitting 29 pages to this site, I think my mind has dried up and I could not think of anything new or of value to submit so I won't get stuck to page 29 forever. This is usually the first problem that any writer encounters: what to write about. It is so easy to say that subjects or ideas can come from anything or everywhere. Really. I don't believe this, however, because I always experience a sort of mental black-out. I want to write but about what, I do not know. Like now.

Something out of nothing..

So it is out of this emptiness or nothingness that I am forced to write about this topic which I am sure most of you can easily relate to. And this happened to me before. But write I must, or write we must. The urge to add more to my number of pages is too strong that I just have to do this even if I am now rambling senselessly. But I know you understand my situation. My fingers are flying but my mind is dry as I type this page.

My writing will be about life in general. I'd been a teacher before I shifted to being a self-employed person. I happen to have several interests, like I'm a dog-lover, I love to dance and sing too.

Rarity, you are not alone. I comment for couple of days and then feel the urge to write. You can rest assured our dear Wikinut friends are accomodative as long as the writing comes from the heart - siva

For a lot of nothing, you sure had something to say. Explains the problem well.

Something I use for my photographs is google's random word generator...someone suggested using it for writing as well. I am looking forward to trying this. Nicely stated because a blank page can make me think I am no writer.

Well done rarity...for me I just float around in the upper regions and wait for the piece to come through...I think writers block comes from thinking too hard for something to write about. for me the whole universe awaits me...I am truly grateful for this...

Hi there, CN! If only the mind is like a faucet that one can easily turn on or off.

I think that we all encounter these 'vacant' periods where our mind goes blank rarity. I wrote a poem tonight after a few weeks of wondering what to write about myself....

I often get these times when I can think of nothing, but I feel if I go for a walk or do a little gardening, I become inspired to write about something in particular.

Maybe just sitting and thinking of nothing does not help while moving about or working effects creativity. Thanks Jenny.
