a poem of time and life lessons we learn in life... to see the pitfalls before you step into them...

the Dunes of the Hourglass Sands

Do not watch as the last torch fades
or reach to the dark with empty hands
Do not walk amongst the devils sage
on the dunes of the hourglass sands.

The hills that keep the mirrors of time
counts the tears you weep.
The glass that shattered held the wine
now lay broken at your feet.

The shadows that march along the walls
solute with blood stained hands.
Repeat the tales a deadman calls
on the dunes of the hourglass sands.

This poem is strikingly moving in it's brevity and message. I keep a couple of hourglasses and my reflections as I gaze at them often take me to this very place.
